This prestigious pre-college summer science program (co-sponsored by mit, university of colorado boulder (pictured), caltech, and new mexico institute of technology) provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a central research project in either astrophysics or biochemistry. Program description june 28 to august 6, 2021 the teen research and education in environmental science (trees) program is traditionally an on-campus, in-person experience. Because of covid-19, the program was delivered entirely online during the summer of 2020. No decisions regarding delivery (on-campus or online) have been made yet about the summer of 2021. Summer research at science park md andersons department of epigenetics and molecular carcinogenesis offers summer internship opportunities for outstanding undergraduate students. Located adjacent to buescher state park near smithville, texas, a short drive from austin, the science park campus provides a unique setting for education in basic cancer biology. Selection process the simons summer research program is a national, competitive summer research program for 11th grade students. Prior research experience is not a prerequisite for the program. Mentors applicants may indicate a preferred area of research interest andor may indicate an interest in a specific research group on the online application. Due to the covid-19 virus, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the iclem program for this summer. We will be offering this program again in the summer of 2021. The introductory college level experience in microbiology (iclem) is an eight-week paid summer science intensive for economically disadvantaged high school sophomores and juniors.
